Mazda CX-5 2.5
Fans of the Mazda CX-5 now have the choice of the more powerful and more capable 2.5-litre petrol version, which is everything that the multi award-winning crossover SUV is famous for but with more features, and a guaranteed exclusivity.
Bermaz Motor has introduced the Mazda CX-5 2.5. It is a fully imported (CBU) version from Japan. It has all of the locally-assembled 2.0 High Spec model's equipment, with the addition of an i-STOP start/stop system, sunroof and a nine-speaker Bose sound system. It also comes with exclusive 225/65 R17 alloys wheels.
The Mazda CX-5 2.5 CBU is powered by the 2.5-litre SKYACTIV-G four-cylinder petrol engine found in the Mazda6 2.5. It boasts of 184hp coming at 5,700rpm, and has an impressive 250Nm of torque at 4,000rpm, compared to the 2.0-litre SKYACTIV-G's 153hp at 6,000rpm and 200Nm of torque at 4,000rpm.
The new addition to the CX-5 line-up comes in two versions - 4WD and 2WD. Selling prices are RM166,594 for the 2WD and RM176,797 for the 4WD, OTR with insurance. The Mazda CX-5 2.5 is available in 4 colour choices: Sky Blue Mica, Meteor Grey, Arctic White and Aluminium Metallic.
As explained by Dato' Seri Ben Yeoh, Managing Director of Bermaz Motor, the main purpose of having the 2.5 version in CBU is basically due to the present production constraints and the long delivery period. Once the production capacity is increased following the commissioning of the new assembly line, the CX5 2.5 will be locally produced.

Safety
Equipment includes ESS, DSC/TSC, and optional Adaptive Front-Lighting System (AFLS) with auto-leveling bi-xenon headlamps. There are also Side & Curtain Airbag, first-ever automotive use of 1,800MPa ultra-high tensile steel (found in the bumpers), seats designed for occupant safety (e.g. anti-whiplash architecture), seatbelts equipped with pretensioners, standard front, side and side curtain airbags, bumper, hood, body cowl and instrument panel optimized to prevent or reduce injury to pedestrians. Plus an excellent field of vision for the driver.
